POKOTABI / Takobar
TAKOBAR
Located in Shibuya's Uguisudanicho, Takobar serves tacos on house-made corn tortillas, hearty burritos, and fresh salsas alongside Mexican beers and cocktails.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The toasted aroma of freshly pressed corn tortillas pairs with citrus-marinated pork carnitas and tender chicken at Takobar in Shibuya's Uguisudanicho neighborhood. An unpretentious neighborhood spot, it serves Mexican food rooted in careful scratch cooking. The standard traditional tacos allow diners to choose fillings of chicken, pork, or vegetables. What gives each order distinction is the restaurant's range of house-made salsas and hot sauces, spanning piquant red chilies and mild blends to sweet fruit salsas made with pineapple or mango, bringing fresh contrast to every bite.
Alongside the tacos, a hearty burrito packed with meats and vegetables provides a filling main course. Smaller plates are well suited for sharing, including avocado dip and chips with fresh guacamole, a light cactus salad, and fried jalapeños.
The bar serves bottled Mexican beers like Corona and Tecate, alongside cocktails such as margaritas, as well as tequila and mezcal. Non-drinkers can choose from classic bottled Japanese sodas, including Co-up Guarana and Mitsuya Cider. With counter seating available, the room is also well suited for dropping by solo for a quiet evening drink and a plate of tacos.
